"When visiting the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens you can actually see three historic attractions in one: Olmsted's South Park, the 1899 tri-domed glass conservatory building, and the Victorian-style gardens of plants (both "Gardens Under Glass" and "Gardens Under the Sky"). Durand-Eastman Park
- Durand-Eastman Park/Slavin's Arboretum. "At the turn of the century, Dr. Henry S. Durand owned a summer camp in Irondequoit. He and his friend George Eastman saw a need for a public park in the area, and towards this end, bought a number of farms around the Durand property. On January 28, 1907, they offered their land to the city of Rochester, "to be used as a public park forever, a tract of land of about 484 acres situate in the Town of Irondequoit on Lake Ontario," thus giving the common citizen rights to nearly a mile of public beach and adjacent lands on the Lake's shoreline. A year later the land was transferred to the city, and on May, 22, 1909, Durand Eastman Park was formally dedicated."

- Monroe County Highland Park Web site. "Best known as the home of the famous Lilac Festival, Highland Park has a history as colorful as its 500 varieties of flowering shrubs. The Lilac Festival, held in May each year, draws visitors from all over the world to see Highland Park's collection of lilacs in full bloom. This spring celebration features flowers, food, and entertainment."

- Maplewood Rose Garden. "In the center of the city of Rochester, above the bank of the river which has shaped the region's history, lies a jewel of a garden. The roses there are an oasis of beauty and the result of decades of planning and care."
- Royal Botanical Gardens. These gardens are located in Hamilton/Burlington, Ontario, Canada. The size of the gardens is large. Their spring Iris garden bloom should not be missed. Their Lilac collection is said to be much larger the collection at Highland Park.
- Sonnenberg Gardens. "A beautiful Victorian mansion and gardens, located at the north end of Canandaigua Lake, in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region in Upstate New York."
- The Webster Arboretum. "The Webster Arboretum is a planned park located at 1700 Schlegel Road, Webster, NY 14580. The goal of this park is to bring together the unique talents of our community members to develop and maintain this special setting in which to explore and learn about nature. The Webster Arboretum Advisory Committee will offer the total community the opportunity to experience educational, conservational and recreational opportunities by having programs for all ages here. The Town of Webster Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with local newspapers will inform residents about activities and educational programs at the Arboretum."
