Affinity Group Medic Training
** Affinity Group Medic Training ** Reserve a spot by calling me at: 342-6851 or e-mailing me at: chrispowers@hotmail.com The training is scheduled to begin at noon on Sunday, March 16 at the University of Rochester, room to be announced. Reply to me by Saturday, March 9, preferably by phone. There will be a sliding scale payment of $10-25 depending on ability to pay and whether one attends only the first half of the training (which is self-care) or stays for the second half (which is to be an affinity group medic). (8+ hours: 1 whole day or two 4-hour sessions). Space is limited to 20 people (dependant upon whether or not I have help. I if I have no help, the class should be much smaller, by help I mean an experienced medic who can keep an eye on folks who are practicing.) Street Medics can't be everywhere all the time. Affinity Group Medics (AGMs) are so very needed in this movement of break-away snake marches and midnight direct actions. Affinity groups should consider having at least two people go through this training. Knowing how to treat people you know when they are hurt and being treated in the streets by someone you know is an awesome form of direct action. In this training we teach the *basic* skills and knowledge to work in the streets as AGMs, including: basic first aid (from scrapes to broken bones and calling 911 for emergencies), weather-related injuries, chemical weapons treatments, affinity group structure, AGM field tactics, health and safety, and more! We use LOTS of role-plays and practical scenarios. This is a hands-on workshop with lots of information, very important for ALL affinity groups. (NOTE: The AGM training is *not* a Street Medic training - that takes twice as long, but *basic* is where everybody needs to start).

POLARITY YOGA
Join us in an evening of Polarity Yoga exercises. These energy exercises can easily be incorporated into your regular exercise routine or be used as your primary fitness routine. Polarity Yoga is a fast and efficient system of exercise developed by Dr. Randolph Stone specifically for busy people who don’t have a lot of time to devote to exercise. What is unique about the Polarity exercises is that they are based on Dr. Stone’s understanding of the wireless energy anatomy in the body, and they work in alignment with the laws of gravity. Polarity Yoga is designed to clear and strengthen the energy fields of the body, which is why it works wonderfully with any other exercise system. Polarity Yoga is done slowly and with consciousness to enhance the benefit. You will learn to feel the energy in your body by performing several types of exercises and end with a relaxation technique. It is suggested that you wear comfortable clothing and do not eat for 2 hours prior to the class. Please call 424-2323 to sign up. BUT I DON’T WANT SURGERY!!!
Do I REALLY have to live with this condition? Do you have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome or symptoms? Do you have whiplash? Do you have tingling in your hands due to a pinched nerve? Have you had a rotator cuff injury or do you a have "frozen shoulder"? How about "Golfer's Elbow" or "Tennis Elbow"(elbow pain not caused by trauma to the elbow joint)? Do you have Sciatic nerve pain or tingling in your legs or feet? Do you have lower-back pain or upper back pain? Have you been told by your physician that your discomfort or symptoms are something that you will have to live with? Massage is not "just" for relaxation anymore. Pain is a temporary friend who tells you that something is wrong, however it need not be a guest that over-stays it's welcome. You do not have to live with chronic pain nor be limited by decreased range of motion and mobility? Allow me the opportunity to excite you about the wonderful body that you were born into. Would you like to try to avoid surgery that would treat the conditions listed above? Bring your questions to this educational seminar where there will be live demonstrations of the treatments that I have learned about and have been using in my practice. I was trained by two of the best in the field, Stewart Taws and James Waslaski who have created techniques that treat injuries with limited pain. Hi! My name is Gary DeFilippo, Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Sport and Medical Massage. Lamb to Lion Therapeutic Massage is located in the neighborhood of Lori's Natural Foods. The cost for the seminar is only $5.00 and all attendees will receive a $15.00 discount coupon to use towards their massage treatment from me when you come to my office.
