December 2 Upgrade Your Written Communications Nonprofit Works offers "Communication Essentials," a one-day workshop that outlines how to create a communications plan that not only identifies, reaches, and moves your audience to action, but tracks and builds on its success. Learn strategies that can help you send a consistent and powerful message that drives your mission home and achieves results. In light of shrinking funds for social programs, this course was designed to help non-profits reach more people without spending more money. We'll help you do more with less by critically reviewing print materials, practicing new strategies, and identifying ways to strengthen your organization's communications plan. Want to Make Money With Your Speaking Voice!? By attending this seminar you will learn all about the voice-over industry (voice-overs are the voices we hear on radio commercials, narrations, etc.), and some great insight on how to break into it! You'll even get a chance to record as if you were on the air! Producer Dan Levine will give you an evaluation and let you know if you have what it takes to make it in voice-overs. South Avenue Good Cheer Scavenger Hunt To be eligible to win a $500 CASH PRIZE, entrants must collect an item from at least 25 South Avenue retail businesses between Linden St. and the Expressway. The item must have the name of the business printed on it, e.g. business card, menu or receipt. The deadline is 5pm Sat, Dec 13th. Participants can pick up their Scavenger Hunt envelope beginning Fri, Dec. 12th at one of the following locations: Premier Pastry, 433 South Ave., Women's Coffee Connection, 642 South Ave., or Pride Connection, 728 South Ave. All entrants will recieve a booklet of coupons from various South Avenue businesses.
