- International Women's Day Demonstration at the White House
- Please sign up well before March 8. Okay, Rochester!!! Here we go again! Plans are underway to celebrate International Women's Day (March 8) by joining with women from throughout the world to encircle the White House with a message of peace. [See below for a partial listing of distinguished participants.] If you -- and your friends, sisters, mothers, daughters -- would like to be there, please let me know right away, so that I'll know whether we need to plan for a busload, a vanload, or a carload. We will be leaving Rochester at midnight on Friday, March 7, staying overnight Saturday as guests in private homes, and returning to Rochester on Sunday afternoon. Please let me know by March 1st if you'd like to go with us, and how many of you there will be. Join with Alice Walker,Vandana Shiva, comedian Janeane Garofalo, Dr. Helen Caldicott, Granny D,Barbara Ehrenreich, Rania Masri, Michelle Shocked, feminist theologian Hyun Kyung, Nobel Peace Laureate Jody Williams, Cheri Honkala, Maxine Hong Kingston, Inga Muscio, Terry Tempest Williams, Medea Benjamin,Starhawk, and many others for a series of women's peace events on March 3 – 9. - Study Group: Anarchist Action of Rochester
- Anarchist Action of Rochester will have its March Study Group Meeting on Saturday, March 8, from 4-6. The location will be Greenwood Books, 123 East Avenue. The topic will be Naomi Wolf's _The Beauty Myth_. The focus of the discussion will be on the question of the extent to which people who suffer under unjust social institutions behave rationally. (I have several related papers on the topic; anyone planning to attend who'd like copies should please let me know.) The April meeting will be on April 12, same time, same location. The topic will be _The Anarchist Writings of William Godwin_. As always, we encourage you to attend even if you cannot do the readings beforehand. - SNOW*FLAKE 2003 SCCA CAR RALLY
- Two or more people, in ordinary cars, on regular roads, within the legal speed limit, make up a rally team. The goal is to drive on time and follow detailed instructions. Each team needs a wristwatch; something to write on and write with. For night rallies a flashlight or other interior lights are needed to read instructions. Come and join us! Both amateurs as well as experienced rallyists are welcome. Inquiries are welcome. Fees are $20 per car for SCCA members; $25 per car for non-SCCA members.
