- 4th Annual SportsNet All-Star Challenge
- WHAT: 4th ANNUAL SPORTSNET ALL-STAR CHALLENGE “an event that celebrates the abilities of everyone through competition and team play” Youth and adult teams, of 4 members with and without disabilities, compete against one another in sports adapted for people with disabilities including: wheelchair basketball, golf, and tennis; paddling; and sled hockey goal and slalom. A total of 18 teams participate representing area businesses, youth organizations, various disability support organizations, and friends of SportsNet. Also: The Amerks Moose and other local celebrities! Vendor and Family Activity Area! Raffle! Admission is free. WHEN: FRIDAY, MARCH 26, 2004, 6:00-9:00 P.M. WHERE: PERINTON COMMUNITY CENTER, 1350 Turk Hill Road, Fairport, NY WHY: Along with having good competitive fun, the intent of the All Star Challenge is to increase awareness of sporting opportunities in the Rochester area for people with physical disabilities, and to increase awareness of SportsNet, a non-profit program of the Rochester Rehabilitation Center. SportsNet is funded through grants, donations, and fees. This signature event helps attain on going support for this unique and worthwhile program.
