(Vintage Departures) by Pico Iyer.  Adventure travel books usually fall into one of two categories.   Either the story is great and the writing not so great or the writing is fabulous and the story is just so so.  Video Night in Kathmandu is a an interesting and revealing story that is well written.  Actually, it may be the best travel writing I have ever read.  This book is one of the Vintage Departures book series published by Vintage Books.  When in doubt, buy any Vintage Departure book.  They publish best current travel stories.
